Cape Town Arrival

It was unbelievably warm when I arrived in Cape Town, South Africa March 1st. It was 11 pm, and I needed to get through customs, find my bag, and find my ride to the hotel. Customs and the bag were easy, but the driver was no where in sight. I walked through the phalanx of drivers hold up names shouting out my name and hotel, no luck. Lots of taxi drivers looking for fares, very persistent, assuring me my driver would never show. So I got a cart and walked towards the exit hoping to find something out side. Just before I got to the entrance at domestic arrivals there he was with my name. Okay they had given him the wrong flight number, and told him I was arriving from Jo-burg. Easily understandable mistakes?
We find the car, dump the bags in the boot, and I automatically open the rigtht front door to get in. The driver asks if I would like to drive, and we both laugh. I finally get to my room and fall into bed after about 40 hours since I left mine.

It was cloudy and of course dark when I arrived, but this greeted me in the morning from my hotel window. It was like being at the base of a huge Southwestern mesa.
