Here we go again with a journey of great expectations to New Orleans and Mardi Gras this time. Where else can you find such a blend of music, food, and good people, but in the Crescent City during the week of Fat Monday, Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday.
We booked this funky expensive hotel between the Garden District and the City Center, The Greenhouse Inn with the tenth most popular pool in New Orleans, costumes and clothing optional. This winter in the middle of Oregon has been an odd mix of freezing below zero temps, fast heavy very wet snow, and warm torrential rains with flash floods. It has been fun, but this escape is to a wonderland of masks, costumes, voodoo, and dancing parades with non-stop music, bayou trips, paddle wheel dinners and general madness. I can not wait! My costume is assembled and my palate is watered.
