Fabric Market Solo Java.

We walked into this wild and exotic batik market in Solo where Ellen thought she had died and gone to heaven.








There are about 500 stalls in this part of the materials market. Each is run by a separate family or co-op. Prices average about $1 per meter/yard so of course we are now carrying about 10 pounds of material for Ellen's art.




It is hot enough on the first floor, so we don't venture up to the other 3 or 4 floors. Luckily for me we entered the market at 3 PM, and it closes at 4 PM.




Now in the outside market it is just time to look and meet news friends. There is no end to the number of folks surrounding us not to sell but just to talk.
